No Meeting Tonight

Bear Den, There will not be a meeting tonight but Somer will be there from 6:30-7 to discuss any concerns or needs for the Mom & Me campout this weekend.  Scouts need to finalize their games for the Pack meeting/Bear Carnival next Monday, October 24th. Remember, anyone 18+ camping with scouts needs to complete Youth Protection Training (YPT).  This training takes about 1.5-2 hours and must be completed every 2 years.  Go to my.scouting.org, create an account or log on with Google, click on Youth Protection Training (YPT) and complete the training.  A certificate will be emailed to you within 24 hours so be sure to check your spam folder.  There isn’t much service at Camp Pirtle so please complete it PRIOR to Saturday.  If…

Mom & Me registration closing Friday!!!

Hey Scout families, Registration for Mom & Me closes Friday, 10/14!!! Mom and Me (or dad and me or grandparent and me, etc.) is October 22nd-23rd at Camp Pirtle in Gary, TX. This event is a favorite of scouts all over the area. It’s a whole Saturday of pack filled scouting fun hosted by the East Texas Area Council so there will be scouts from all over our area. There will be canoes, a rock climbing wall, BB guns, archery and so much more! Check-in is at 8 AM on Saturday at Camp Pirtle. If you are not able to camp overnight, you may go for just the day. Meeting tonight at Blackhawk Creek Hiking and Biking Trail

Hello Wolf Families! I am so excited about our little “hike.” We’ll be meeting at the Blackhawk Creek Trail in Whitehouse. You can find directions here . Please bring what you have of the Cub Scout 6 essentials. If you don’t have any of the items, it’s 100% okay! As Wolves, our scouts are just learning what things the should carry and working on collecting the items over time. A flashlight may be need tonight though. We are meeting tonight as usual, 6:30 pm, back room of WUMC.  We will be on our 2nd round of Exercise Fitness Testing – bring a towel to protect your scout from the grass if they are allergic – Push ups and Sit ups are in their future!!!   We will be working on FLAG TRIVIA AND FACTS tonight as well – and planning our “menu” for our Cast Iron Chef Cooking requirement. *** Several of you said you are familiar with “dutch oven” cooking- if you have some recipes, cook books, etc.  and can bring them, let me know!! Bear Claws

Hello Bear den! Tonight we are going to start our Bear claws adventure.  This is where the Cubs will learn proper knife safety and how to use a pocket knife.  Parents, if you can please stay with your child tonight as we will need all the adults we can get. Blackhawk Creek Hike and Health Forms
