Just a reminder that dinner plate orders for Blue & Gold are due this Friday! Food orders may be placed at Blue & Gold – Cub Scout Pack 359 (etacpack359.org). Dinner will be catered by Bruno’s. Plate options are Chicken Alfredo or Spaghetti with Meat Sauce. All plates are served with a salad and roll. Due to scheduling conflicts our Spring Family Camp has been cancelled. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean there aren’t opportunities for fun. The East Texas Area Council is hosting TWO fun-filled events in the month of April!   The FIRST event, Spring Cub Camping Event – Third Rock from the Sun, is a family focused event open to Cub Scouts and their parents/guardians. You and your Scout will get to participate in outdoor activities such as Shooting Sports, Climbing Wall, Cooking, Crafts, Fishing, Bounce House, Games, and a Scavenger Hunt! Third Rock from the Sun will take place at George W. It’s that time of year again, Blue & Gold is just around the corner!   The Blue & Gold Banquet is a time for families to come together to celebrate our Cub Scouts and their achievements this year. We will present the Scouts with their belt loops and rank badges, along with any other awards. We also thank our Pack leaders and other volunteers who run the Pack and help organize our events for the year.   This year, we will also have the privilege of hosting the Arrow of Light Crossover Ceremony. It is time for the District Pinewood Derby!!! When and Where District Pinewood Derby Race Day is March 4th @ UMC Whitehouse (405 W. Main StreetWhitehouse, Texas 75791) The Race will be held in Friendship Hall (rear of building) Schedule Registration: 8am-9am Judging: 9am-9:30am Races Begin: 9:30am We will start with Lions and work our way upwards through the ranks. We will have real race cars onsite provided by the Hawkins Racing Team for the scouts to see, take pictures of and talk to the drivers. 

Flags need to be picked up this weekend! Please pick up the route you placed (unless your den has coordinated otherwise). If you set out a route and are unable to pick up, please let me know asap so we can get your route covered by another family.    Also, registration for Spring Break Camp at Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas is closing in just one week! You are welcome to just come for your race or stay for the whole morning!   FLAGS GO OUT THIS WEEKEND FOR PRESIDENTS’ DAY!  If you are putting out a flag route, you may pick up your flags immediately following your den’s race. Hey Scout Families!   Are those cars done yet? T-minus 6 hours until weigh-in and drop off!!!   For first timers, tonight between 6pm – 8pm you will bring your completed cars to be weighed and checked in. We will have a pit area for any last-minute adjustments for cars that don’t meet requirements, need graphite powder, etc. After your car is weighed, you will not get your car back until after the races tomorrow morning. Cars will not be handled by anyone except for race officials.   If you have already registered your car online, anyone can bring your scout’s car to be dropped off (scouts do not need to be present). If you have not already, please register your car(s) ahead of weigh-in…

This is Pinewood Derby Week!!! Both check-in and race day will be in Fellowship Hall at the back of the Whitehouse United Methodist Church. Please enter church through the back door only.   Pinewood Derby Check-in and Inspection – Friday, February 10th from 6pm-8pm. Weigh your car in and leave it there for races the next day. Must have your car registered on Friday night to race on Saturday. Register your cars prior to February 10th  online at https://etacpack359.org/pinewood-derby/ before weigh-in. Your cars can be dropped off by another family as long as the cars are registered! Webelos, I know there are some things you can work on at home, Gigi has a list in her latest update. AOLs WILL be meeting tonight! This month is very important as you prepare for your crossover.
