Pinewood Derby Kick Off Meeting 1/9/23

Attention scouting families! It is time to kickoff the 2023 Pinewood Derby! Monday Night we will be discussing this year’s Pinewood Derby rules, distributing car kits and covering build and race day schedule in the UMC sanctuary. Each scout will be given one car kit. If you would like to purchase additional kits as an extra, for yourself or another family member. You will need to pre order on the pack website for $7.50 or pay $7 with check or exact cash at meeting. Because we will only be discussing the rules and distributing kits it is not necessary that scouts attend this meeting.

Christmas Caroling at Prestige Sat. 12/17

Hey scout families! Tomorrow we will be caroling and delivering homemade Christmas cards to the folks at Prestige Estates Assisted Living and Memory Care. We will meet there at 2:00 pm. The address is 6928 Paluxy Dr, Tyler, TX 75703. As with the parades, please have your scout wear their Class A along with any Christmas accessories they’d like. It will be cold, so if you’d like to wear a Christmas sweater over your uniform you can. Please bring a couple homemade Christmas cards to deliver to the residents. Hope to see you there!   Nicole Whittaker Pack 359 Committee Chair

Thank you for a great parade season!

Parade season has wrapped up for the year. 4 parades in a span of 2 months! Our scouts did a fantastic job representing the organization and our community. Thank you scouts for doing your best! To the parents who walked or rode with us, and even those who did not, thank you for modeling the importance of community involvement. Last but certainly not least, a HUGE thank you to our parade committee and their spouses. They pulled the trailer so our Lions and Tigers could participate, and spent hours (not kidding) planning and decorating the trailer for the Christmas parades. THANK YOU!!!   (Parade committee? Why yes, we have a parade committee. There are other sub-committees made up of our amazing committee members. These parents/aunts/uncles…

Troup Christmas Parade today!

The Troup Christmas Parade is today at 6 pm! Line up is at 5, and scouts need to be in their Class A uniform, closed toe shoes and Santa hats/accessories. There is a slight chance of rain so a poncho is recommended just in case. Attached is information on the parade.   Let’s help our Troup scouts and their neighbors kick off the holiday season! If you plan to attend, please let me know so we can get an approximate head count for flags and the banner.
