  • Pinewood Derby Information meeting and car kit handout TOMORROW, Monday Jan 9th – Lots of Info in this post!!!

    Wow, what an awesome job the Webelos did on their hike and what a BEAUTIFUL day it was to be outside!!  Lots of info to start 2023: Just a “Heads UP” to Parents – there will be Pinewood Derby Kick Off Meeting tomorrow night, 1/9/23, 6:30 at WUMC. Leaders will go over this year’s Pinewood Derby rules, build day and race day schedules, answer questions, and you can pick up your Scout’s Pinewood Car kits.  Each scout will be given one car kit free – paid for by Pack 359 Flag sales!   If you would like to purchase additional kits for parents or siblings to race in the OPEN category, or have an extra for spare parts, you will need to preorder on the…

  • Pinewood Derby Kick Off Meeting 1/9/23

    Attention scouting families! It is time to kickoff the 2023 Pinewood Derby! Monday Night we will be discussing this year’s Pinewood Derby rules, distributing car kits and covering build and race day schedule in the UMC sanctuary. Each scout will be given one car kit. If you would like to purchase additional kits as an extra, for yourself or another family member. You will need to pre order on the pack website for $7.50 or pay $7 with check or exact cash at meeting. Because we will only be discussing the rules and distributing kits it is not necessary that scouts attend this meeting.

  • Time to hike! Meet 2pm Hilton Garden Inn on Grande.

    Happy New Year, Den 4! While it looks a bit cloudy today, by 2pm tomorrow (Sunday, Jan 8) the sun will be shining and the Webelos are going to be hiking 3 miles on the Rose Rudman Trail in Tyler.   Drop off scouts TO ME at the Hilton Garden Inn off of Grande. Parents should drive to Southside Park off of Shiloh road for pick up, or park and walk south and meet up with the crew to walk with us. We will be walking to the park, hang out for a bit at the playground (drinks / restroom) proceed north on the trail over to Copeland and circle back to Southside for play/parent pick up.   • Knots! and Christmas

    Ho! Ho! Ho! It’s time to learn who made the knotty list, as in who has mastered their knots!!! We will be finishing up the knots and lashings tonight. If you have a fun Christmas shirt or sweater wear it. It’s our last den meeting of the year. SAVE the date: January 21 Tyler state park camping with Troop 356. Merry Christmas. Kathy

    TODAY we will be caroling and delivering homemade Christmas cards to the folks at Prestige Estates Assisted Living and Memory Care. We will meet there at 2:00 pm. The address is 6928 Paluxy Dr, Tyler, TX 75703. As with the parades, please have your scout wear their Class A along with any Christmas accessories they’d like. It will be cold, so if you’d like to wear a Christmas sweater over your uniform you can. Please bring a couple homemade Christmas cards to deliver to the residents

  • Bear Christmas Party

    Have a Beary Merry Christmas! On Wednesday, December 21st at 5:30 PM we will have our Bear Christmas party at Ms. Somer’s house (1421 Jeff Davis Dr, Tyler, 75703).  Please bring a wrapped, gender neutral gift valued at $15 or less and outdoor/scout themed.  We will be doing a white elephant exchange, cookie decorating, games, and lots more!  We can’t wait to see you all there.  Please RSVP with your scouts name and favorite color to Ms. Somer 903-952-7238.

  • Meetings and Homework

    Howdy, Last night was fun. I’m super glad parents came up with fundraising ideas (call your spirit night locations) and the scouts got really far with knot tying and lashing. Things you should be doing: This Saturday is the Christmas Caroling. Look for information from the pack for details. Work on your Duty to God. Electives: You can work on these at home. Have fun with it. We ARE meeting next Monday to finish knots and lashings Save the date: Jan 21. Troop 356 has invited our group to Tyler State Park for a day of fun activity and camping that night.
