Veterans Day school programs

Hello Scouts, Below is information regarding Veterans Day ceremonies at Brown, Cain and Higgins:   Higgins The program is tomorrow, Thursday the 10th at 5:45pm. Scouts will be greeting people outside the school with the American flag. Scouts need to be at the school in their Class A uniform by 5:20pm. Jamie Smith has the flag for the scouts to take turns holding, while others greet attendees.   Cain Jason Beaton (Tiger den leader and Scoutmaster) will call the scouts out of class tomorrow at 1:30pm for a quick practice. Fall Family Campout_Registration Closing Soon

🏕️ Don’t forget Fall Family Camp sign up is live on our website! Family Camp will be November 11th through the 13th at Camp Pirtle (Co Rd 1241, Gary City, TX 75643)  and is $20 per family. Registration for Fall Family Camp will close on the 8th.   Fall Family camp is a wonderful way to relax and enjoy getting to know other families in the Pack. Most Dens will have an activity or two planned, but there will also be family time so you may go on your own adventure. Many families may not be able to come out Friday night and will come out early Saturday morning to set up camp. Even if your schedule will not allow camping, feel free to come out for the…

11/5/2022 Flags Going Out for Veterans Day

Happy November Scouts and Scout Families!!   This is the weekend flags go out for Veterans Day. Flags will be available for pickup starting around 9 AM Saturday Morning. If you have never participated in flag services, this weekend is a great time to start.  Flags and flagpoles need to inspected, marked for our Pack and repaired or replaced if necessary.  There is plenty of work to go around, so all available families are asked to participate. Several routes near Lake Tyler still need to be covered, please contact Eric Sivula at 903-539-1278 if your family is available to help deliver flags.

Good Afternoon Scout Families!   Tonight we have the 1st Pack Meeting of the year in the Sanctuary of the church at 6:30pm. Please wear Class A uniforms. Happy Friday Scout Families!  A quick update for Mom & Me: We will be at campsite 4. If you get there early, please set up close to the tree lines so there is plenty of space for latecomers to set up in the middle. *** ONE LAST REMINDER TO BRING HEALTH FORMS A & B FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS (if you have not already turned them in) AND A COPY OF YOUR YPT (YPT can be shown on your phone). *** Some experienced families who have been to Camp Pirtle before will be going out tonight. Mom & Me Details

Mom & Me is this Saturday. We are still waiting on a few details, but here is a camping checklist so you can start packing! There is a link below for a map of Camp Pirtle (Map of GWP). I recommend you print a copy and bring it with you. The camp is much larger than it looks. If you have not already turned in Health Forms A & B for all participants and YPT for all adults, you must bring these with you to camp! Please turn them in to Somer Bockover. 2022 Rose Festival Parade Information!!!

Happy Friday! Important Rose Parade Information Scouts (and walking parents) need to meet at the corner of Glenwood and Front Street at 7:30. We will meet on the South East (Bottom Right) of the intersection across from the UT Health EMS Services building. The best way to drop off is from the South (Green Arrows on the map). Everything else will be blocked off. It is normal to park somewhere else and walk to the meeting location. Check-in – PLEASE check in your scouts with one of our leaders. We will have a sign-in and sign-out sheet to ensure all scouts are accounted for. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR SCOUT TO WALK TO THE MEETING LOCATION UNACCOMPANIED. Mom & Me registration closing Friday!!!

Hey Scout families, Registration for Mom & Me closes Friday, 10/14!!! Mom and Me (or dad and me or grandparent and me, etc.) is October 22nd-23rd at Camp Pirtle in Gary, TX. This event is a favorite of scouts all over the area. It’s a whole Saturday of pack filled scouting fun hosted by the East Texas Area Council so there will be scouts from all over our area. There will be canoes, a rock climbing wall, BB guns, archery and so much more! Check-in is at 8 AM on Saturday at Camp Pirtle. If you are not able to camp overnight, you may go for just the day. Troup Parade Tomorrow!!! (10/8)

Hey Scout families! Just a reminder that Troup’s Sesquicentennial Parade is tomorrow morning! Scouts need to be in their Class A uniform – for new scouts, this includes the blue (or tan for Webelos/Arrows) button down shirt, neckerchief, slide, and belt. We do not require official BSA pants or shorts. Any nice pants or shorts with belt loops is fine (jeans, tan, blue, black, or green are what our scouts usually wear – please no holes or rips). For our Lions, the uniform is the BSA Lion t-shirt. Hats are optional, and scouts can wear the Pack 359 hat if they have one.
