Hey Den 4 – what a GREAT year-end swim party we had – missed a few of you, but it was so good to see almost everyone, and especially the scouts-in-training (siblings!) Don’t forget the SCOUT BICYCLE RODEO – THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 11th!!  Bring your bikes and meet up at the Green Acres Parking Garage 8am-12pm. This event is going to be a lot of fun. We have a few stations for the kids, Multiple City of Tyler departments that will be there to show off their vehicles and speak to the kids. The Tyler PD Bike Unit will be there and will do a demo. We have food truck, snow cones and TXDOT is donating a free bicycle helmet, front and rear bike light,…

Pool Party tonight! 200 E Acker Tap

Toay is the day! DEN 4 End -of- year pool party at the Neilsens’ home, 200 East Acker Tap in Whitehouse, starting at 6pm. I’ve heard from almost everyone – I’m getting pizza, and scout families are bringing paper goods, drinks, veggies, desserts, chips and dip. If your family has not signed up to bring something, bring yourselves and whatever your Scout would like. 😁 Can’t wait to see everyone!!!!

Rain, Rain Go AWAY….Pool Party is washed out, rescheduling for next Tuesday, May 31st!

Hello Scout Families!! Our end-of-the-year pool party is most likely going to be washed away – chilly weather, lightning and thunderstorms are forecast for almost every hour tomorrow.  The day might dawn just lovely, but with lightning in the area we’ve made the call to POSTPONE our year-end adventure until NEXT TUESDAY, MAY 31st, when both the temperatures and the weather seem to be more cooperative! I’ve heard from Harrison and Madoc’s families – I’m ordering PIZZA and we have some chips, dip, and a dessert so far….can anyone bring drinks?  Paper Plates, forks, napkins? Flag Pick Up Day 9am to 5pm Sat. MAY 21

The WUMC church will be open Saturday for flag pick up! If your family does not normally set out flags, if you can come in the morning and help pull flags out of storage, check for repairs, and put together new flags if need be. There’s lots that can be done especially for those who don’t have a flag route! Attention: The number of flags for each bear route has changed. Flags and Webelos Camp

Howdy! I have talked to the hirer ups and our den will put flags out Monday night AFTER Webelos summer camp meeting. This meeting we will cover the schedule, what to pack and paperwork needed. BEARS to WEBELOS Swim Party NEXT week AND FLAGS go out this weekend!!!

Hi Scouts!!  – Now WEBELOS Scouts – wow, our team of young men and ladies are growing up fast!! Best wishes to all our Scouts in playoff baseball games tonight (so no meeting tonight) AND cheers to all for great STARR test work!!! Thanks to several parents for offering to host a BEARS TO WEBELOS year-end gathering.  The Neilsens have offered their pool AND live right in town on Acker Tap so if the weather and their pool filter cooperates we plan to swim there (1st house on right after railroad tracks off of 110) next Tuesday, May 24th, 6pm.  (Plan B at the church.) Howdy Den 3, Two weeks of school left!! WOOOHOOO!!! I will setup a meeting with the families going to Webelos camp very soon. Hello Bear Families! No meetings this week as we support our Scouts doing STARR testing. Future meetings – with the temperatures at night warming up (a lot!) I’m looking for a pool to do our swimming elective – and a family willing to have Bears in their pool! I’ve had several families volunteer homes for a year-end meeting – Thanks!  Working on scheduling now….might do both together? Be thinking about FLAGS – they will need to be out by Memorial Day on May 30th. July Family Overnight Camp at Ft. Worth Zoo (July 23 & 24) Registration is open – limit of 75 participants!

Zoo registration is up on the pack site – there is a limit of 75 people total.  We will be “camping” inside zoo education buildings, not out in the heat!  The Pack is setting up a wait list in case any families cancel. Cancellations may be made up to 10 days prior to the event. After that, the $20 deposit (and any additional tickets purchased) will be non-refundable (save for extreme circumstances). Bicycle Rally June 11th at UMC Whitehouse July Family Overnighter at Ft. Worth Zoo July 23rd and 24th. Registration is now open on pack website. Looking for a rain-free day after baseball playoffs for our Den 4 end-of-year celebration – stay tuned and stay dry!!!

No Den Meetings after a Campout Weekend

Hello Den 4!! Just a reminder, there is NO Den Meeting this week as this past weekend was a campout weekend.  I saw pictures of a HUGE fish Viana caught!  Did anyone else have any adventures?  Send me pictures!!  Happy Mothers Day coming up to all my GREAT Scout moms in Den 4 – could not do it without all your help!!   We need a “not rainy” day to do our rockets  and I’m looking for a place for a “End of the Year” celebration.
