Monday meeting

AOL parents we are not officially meeting this Monday, if any scout needs additional help I will be at the church at our regular time. I have not heard from anyone about “Duty to God in Action” or other requirements. Please let me know when your son has completed any requirement. Congratulatuions to all who participated in the Pinewood Derby. In all we had ten cars race.Finally we raised a little over $600.00 towards the boys awards. Thank you for all who participated. No Meeting Monday, February 18th – Enjoy President’s Day!!!

I was SO PROUD of the LION Den for showing excellent sportsmanship and being so very patient while waiting to receive your medals Saturday. Your cars were awesome, ran fast, and you guys all looked outstanding in your Lion uniforms!!! Pack Meeting will be February 25th, I believe. See you then!! Keep practicing the SCOUT LAW – A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent!

LIONS will meet in the choir room on Feb. 11th – Pinewood Derby this weekend!

Howdy LIONS!! We will be talking about the importance of following the rules AND will be going on a dinosaur fossil dig!! Be thinking about what dinosaur is your favorite. Pinewood Derby is this weekend – be sure you follow all the rules! You must check-in your completed car on Friday, 2/15, between 6-8pm at Pollard UMC. There will be a pit crew there to help with any last minute adjustments. Pinewood Derby is Saturday, 2/16, starting at 9 AM at Pollard UMC in Tyler. We should be completed by lunch. The rules are strictly enforced. Wear your LION Uniform and neckerchief!!

Tomorrow’s meeting

Good afternoon, We had planned to sell flags tomorrow but due to rainy weather we will be meeting to finish up our Fur, Feather, and Ferns advancement. Since I had not planned on having a traditional meeting tomorrow we will not be working on Bear Claws (I haven’t ordered the wood yet). Wednesday we will help our pack put out Flags for President’s Day. Please meet at the church Wednesday at 5:30 to put out flags. It should take about an hour if we have enough help. Fund Raiser / Cross Over Meeting

AOL parents, I will be having a meeting this Monday night at the church for any who want to know more about our plans for Cross Over and the fund raiser. Our main fundraiser will be on the day of the pinewood derby race (Feb 16th), volunteers are needed to help man and supply the concession stand from gift cards that we have received. The importance of the fund raiser is too raise as much as we can to help off set the costs of the awards and the venue. I look forward to seeing everyone. Bob Prince

Upcoming troop campouts / Requirement updates

AOL parents there are two troop level campouts coming up if you still need to fulfill this requirement. Troop 335 has their campout at Mineola Nature Preserve on Feb 16th signup is at Https://335scouts.org/camp. Troop 356 has a campout coming up on Feb 22-24 for a 10 mile hike at Davy Crockett National Park(Mr. George 903-714-4344). Please let me know when you have completed any requirements, I have not heard from anyone. Hope to see you at Scout Sunday this weekend. Bob Prince

Lions will NOT meet Feb. 4 – get your cars ready for Pinewood Derby!!

Howdy LIONS! We will not meet Monday, Feb. 4th – be working on the Scout Law: The Scout Law is: “ A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent. Also, take a look at those LION electives and see which ones sound like the most fun!!! We will meet Monday, Feb. 11th – Pinewood Derby weigh-in Friday 2/15,and race day is February 16th! Pack Meeting is Monday, Feb. 25th. Have a great week!

Tomorrow’s meeting

Tomorrow the boys will be doing their first knife carving tomorrow out of soap. Please bring a bar of ivory soap (or similar) and a pocket knife (locking blade). This activity can get kind of messy so please wear class B (t-shirt). Please try to wear the green scout shirt if possible. Also, remember this meeting will not be provided a make-up so please be in attendance with your scout. I can’t wait to see what the boys accomplish tomorrow! Campsite location

We are in Hickory Hollow, sites 701-704!!! Drop those Scouts off!! If not staying the night, We will meet at the campsites tomorrow AM at 9AM BEFORE heading to the trailhead. Plan to pick you Scouts up at noon at the campsites.
