Den meeting next week plus registration information

Hello ARROW Scouts!

We picked up two new scouts during school registrations – please help me welcome Annabelle Upshaw and Everett Garcia.  Both attend Brown Elementary here in Whitehouse!

Our “kickoff” meeting will be next Tuesday, September 26, at 6:30 pm in the back fellowship hall at WUMC.

Parents – you might browse the Aquanaut and Fix-It electives to see if your scout finished enough requirements to earn those electives. You can do a Google search for Webelos/Arrow of Light electives to see the requirements.

We will start the year with some “Outdoorsman” acheivment work – fire building, outdoor cooking, Emergency plans and a review of our Outdoor Code.

Returning Scout Families,

We are so excited to start Den Meetings again next week! Parents, here is a checklist to prepare for the beginning of our scouting year.

  1. Go to Register – Cub Scout Pack 359 ( and register your scout(s) for the 2023-2024 scouting year. (Membership fees will be collected by BSA this year – since your scouts are paid through the end of the year, nothing is due at this time. Yearly fees are $100 per scout. BSA will contact you directly when it is time to renew.)
  2. Go to Hats & Shirts if you would like to order Pack t-shirts and Hats. That's right, hats are back! T-shirts are $11 and hats are $18. We will be placing a bulk order at the end of next week. If you are not able to order before then, don't worry! You can still order throughout the year, but you will pay Embroidery Design directly and pick it up from their store in Tyler at 4500 S Broadway Ave Ste A, Tyler, TX 75703. Also, if you need any patches sewn on your uniform, be sure to see them! They know proper scout patch placement.
  3. Check your YPT dateif it has expired or it about to expire, please retake your YPT. Remember, YPT is required for all parents/guardians participating in scouting activities.
  4. Fill out Health Forms A, B1 & B2 for each parent, scout, or sibling participating in any activities throughout the year. Forms are attached ( It is highly recommended you keep these filled out and saved on your computer so you can easily update them each year and print. Don't forget a copy of your driver's license and insurance card if applicable.
  5. Bring your Health Forms and updated YPT certificates to the first meeting. Lions, Tigers, Wolves, and Webelos will meet at 6:30 on Mondays at the church. Bears and AOLs will meet on Tuesdays at 6:30.
  6. Keep an eye out for an invitation to Trails End. We will be participating in online popcorn sales this year as an additional fundraiser. Follow the link to create a profile for your scout, then share their online storefront with family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. No need to stock inventory or stand in front of a store for hours! Be sure to download the app on your smartphone, where you can manage your scout's account, share their page, and even place online orders for customers.
