Parade Information & Next Meeting Update

Wolf Den 4 – we will be leading the Whitehouse Christmas Parade with the Troop 359 Scouts!!!  Here's what we received from the Chamber of Commerce:

WHITEHOUSE CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK & PARADE – Saturday December 5th

Park activities / Vendors will be kicking off our 2020 Christmas in the Park event Saturday December 5th at 3:00pm at the Whitehouse City Park.
Following the Parade Santa will be in the park to count down for the Christmas Tree Lighting.

The weather forcast for Saturday calls for a high of 62 and light wind – meaning it will be getting chilly as the sun sets – be prepared! Scouts should have several layers on UNDER their costume or scout uniforms so the uniforms show if possible and wear SANTA HATS (bring a jacket and gloves, flashlight, masks for safety at the park)   If you have battery operated Christmas lights bring them to light up your scout!!

PARADE LINE UP BEGINS AT 4:30 PM – We can use some help getting the truck and trailer decorated at that time.  They will close the parade route as the time nears for the parade, so don't be late getting into the parking lot to drop off your scout.  Parents are welcome to walk/ride with scouts.  We need a HEAD COUNT of Scouts, Siblings, Parents – who will be walking/riding with us??? Send confirmation to gdel@tjc.edu.

Whitehouse Chamber of Commerce members will be on site at 4:30 pm to direct groups to their spot for Parade line-up

Lineup is 4:30 pm, enter through Stanton-Smith Elem. from Shahan Ranch Blvd. (Off of 346, past the stadium).

 Parade starts at the Whitehouse Bus Barn parking lot
 Turns right (south) on Hwy 110 and takes a left (east) on FM 346 at the light
 Parade continues on FM 346 past Whitehouse City Park, takes a left (north) on Bascom Rd (FM 848)
 From Bascom Road, parade turns right on Shelly Street, and follows the bus lane to Holloway Middle School
 Pick-up will be at the front parking lot of Holloway Middle School – Pick up is always a little bit hectic – if one parent is with their Scout it makes it MUCH easier (cell phones) to meet the rest of the family – usually there is a chance for a parent & scout to get out of line at the City Park instead of going all the way around to Holloway.

Floats will be judged on how well they portray the theme: A Storybook Christmasshare any bright ideas you have on this theme when you reply.  Our trailer will be decorated like a train – the Cub Scout Express…if you have a costume for Frosty the snowman, Rudolph, inflatable Dinosaur w/Santa Hat on, Baby Yoda –  Scout, parent, or both can dress up for fun.

I will be watching for any last minute updates from the Chamber and will let you know as soon as I know of any changes!!
I still need “Duty To God” completed handout from a few of you so I can turn it in for Advancements
