This is it!! Our final year as Arrows (Arrow of Light Cub Scouts) starts next week!!

Hello Arrows!

We are nearing the end of our Scouting Journey – we have just a few Advancements, an Elective or two, and some fun nights camping with Scout groups for your Arrow of Light scout to consider bridging over into.

There is a Parent meeting Monday, Sept 18 at WUMC at 6:30pm – for new parents or parents with Questions.

Den Meetings start the week of September 25thwe will be meeting on Tuesdays at 6:30pm pending everyone’s schedule allowing this – I am open to an occasional Sunday afternoon meeting as well if everyone’s schedule is especially hectic.  Troop meetings will depend on the Troop – Troop 359 meets on Tuesdays.

This fall we will visit other Troops and/or invite Scoutmasters from area Troops to come in to talk to our Scouts & Parents.  I hope that some of the Pack 359 Arrows can do an exploratory camp out with a Troop in October before the weather gets cold. This visit/campout is part of one of our final required Adventure Pins!

Arrow of Light Required Adventure Pins

2.)Duty to God in Action – Building on the Duty to God and You the Scouts did last year

4.)Scouting Adventure – Learn changes for Scout Oath, etc. Visit Troop meeting(s), learn the Patrol Method, Participate in a Troop Campout, Demonstrate square knot, two half hitches, and a taut-line hitch. Earn or demonstrate Whittling Chip rules.

We had a BIG crew at Webelo’s Camp this summer and they are ready to take that next step in Scouting!

Thanks to all who volunteered to do a Flag Route – Tracy and I put out and are picking up the Prestige Flags to give everyone a break to enjoy your Scout’s first weeks back in school and getting used to the new routine.
