Updates for Lock-in, WWII display, and Mom & Me – registration links in this message!!

Hey Webelos Scouts – The Pack is getting lots of questions so here are some updates to help clarify what's happening this weekend!!

1.) There have been some questions about the Mom and Me campout (October 22nd-23rd at Camp Pirtle) to clear up. This event is a District cub scout event that costs $40 per person, however, our pack is able to cover a portion of the cost thanks to our flag subscription fundraiser. So if you want to attend the Mom and Me campout you will only have to pay $25 per person but you MUST SIGN UP ON OUR PACK WEBSITE!  I have added the link here.  https://etacpack359.org/momandme/   The deadline to register is October 14th. If you have questions you can ask your den leader or email the pack email address.

Mom and Me (or dad and me or grandparent and me, etc) is October 22nd-23rd at Camp Pirtle. This event is a favorite of scouts all over the area. It's a whole Saturday of pack filled scouting fun hosted by the East Texas Area Council so there will be scouts from all over our area. There will be canoes, a rock-climbing wall, BB guns, archery and so much more! You can camp overnight or just go out for the day. There are more details on the pack website under the MOM AND ME tab at the top of the page.

2.) Parents Night Out will be THIS FRIDAY – October 7th 6:30pm – 8:00pm. This is a fundraiser hosted by Inspire Youth Sports (1505 E Grande Blvd) – they will watch your kiddos while you enjoy some time to yourself. The kids will get to play in their amazing facility and then donate the money back to Pack 359. This opportunity is not only open to the cub scouts but anyone with kids – the more, the merrier, and more donated back to our Pack!!! Registration for Parents Night Out IS STILL OPEN – sign up at inspiresignup.com.

3.)If you and your Scouts want to “touch and talk to history” there is a “Military Day” honoring WWII at the Bullard WhataBurger on Hwy 69 this Saturday, October 8th from 10am to 3pm – there will be lots of WWII memorabilia as well as some “hot rods” in the parking lot for car buffs.  Should be a fun visit if you are out and about on Saturday afternoon.  (This would fit a number of Scout Achievement & Electives for almost any age)

ALSO – if you want to participate in Troup's Sesquicentennial Parade it is also Saturday, October 8th. All scouts are welcome to ride in the parade, smile and wave. If you would like to participate you will need to meet the rest of the pack at the Troup ISD Admin. building at 9am. Scouts need to be in Class A shirt.

e Pack asked us to forward information as they are getting lots of questions through the website!
