Den Meeting Tonight

Hello! I look forward to seeing everyone this evening at 6:30pm. We’ll meet at the same place (Pike Hall). We are starting out Call of Wild Belt Loop! The kids will learn how to tie an overhand knot and a square knot. If you have some cordage or rope or yarn please bring it. If not, I will have plenty to pass around. I have attached our schedule for 2022. I did not include all Pack activities. Those can be found here: Pack Calendar  See you soon! Tonight’s meeting

Hello BEAR families! The first den update was a mistake so disregard! Tonight we will be working on our Bear Necessities requirement.  We will start inside (same place as last week) and move outside so please wear your Class B uniform (that’s the t-shirt) if you have one.  We will be putting up tents.  A water bottle is a good idea as well.  Be ready to talk about your carnival ideas. Below you will find updates from the pack. Mom and Me (or dad and me or grandparent and me, etc) is October 22nd-23rd at Camp Pirtle. This event is a favorite of scouts all over the area. It’s a whole Saturday of pack filled scouting fun hosted by the East Texas Area Council so there…

Den Meeting, 6:30pm Today (10/3) at WUMC (outside most likely)

Hello WEBELOS Scouts! We are going to be working hard to earn required Achievement pins so we can receive our WEBELOS “colors” at the first Pack Meeting! Tonight – dress in Class B (T-shirt & Shorts) as we begin our “Stronger, Faster, Higher” Adventure. We will be outside, so your Scout might want to bring a towel to sit on for stretches.  I will need a few parents with phones to help record starting times for each Scout’s Fitness Chart baseline numbers. We will also do a quick refresher on Flag presentation for an opening ceremony – I provided a copy last week that could be laminated or covered with clear tape to keep in your pockets! ** Scouts – did you research what makes…

Updated AOL schedule

Morning AOL Parents, It was great getting back into meetings and seeing all of you last night. As I mentioned our schedule is fluid and can change throughout the year. I am working hard to keep ya’ll up to date on changes. We have our FIRST schedule change. The meeting with Whitehouse Mayor has been scheduled for November 28. This made me change a few activities in order for the group to prepare for the visit (they have to be ready with questions for the mayor and watch the local news). Next week we start Scouting Adventure Requirement 3 (pg 174) and review of Bobcat for our new scout. See attached for update year schedule. KP PS: Winter/Spring: There are still areas I need help….

Camping Update for our Den

Hello Den 4 Families! We had a good meeting to get the year started.  The Scouts should be asking to use the internet to figure out what is in the “poppers” or “snaps” they enjoyed last night that makes them “pop” upon impact…pretty sure it’s not “gunpowder” which was the scout’s primary answer before doing their research. It should be interesting to see what they discover. We missed several Scouts, but as I discussed, our scouts have time to finish Webelos and Arrow of Light ranks while working around football, baseball, karate, golf, robotics – These young men and women are going to do amazing things in their future and scouting can be a part of that journey.  This is one of the reasons we…

Tiger Time!

Hey Tiger families! Tonight is our first Den Meeting of the new scouting year at 6:30 at the United Methodist Church in Whitehouse. Our first goal is to complete all of our requirements to earn our Bobcat Rank before the October Pack Meeting. We’re working on the Scout Law tonight. See you there!

First Wolf Den Meeting

Hello Wolf Families! We will be meeting today in Pike Hall (where we met last year) at 6:30pm. If you have an extra pair of scissors and a permanent marker to bring to the meeting, that would be great. We will be cutting out pieces of leather to make wolf neckerchief slides. If you have your class A (blue button down Scout shirt) please wear it. If you don’t have one yet, that’s not a problem. This year we will be learning how to do a real flag ceremony! We have two Den Chiefs (Boy Scouts from Troop 359) that will help lead your boys and girls in the flag ceremony each week. This will be a great opportunity for our kids to learn from…
