Pinewood Derby Build Day – This Saturday, Jan 27th (8a-12p). We’ll have the tools necessary to leave with nearly a finished car. Please volunteer to help with Build Day! I know some families were unable to make it to our Pack meeting on the 8th, and with no den meetings this week Pinewood Derby has not been on everyone’s mind. Our Build Day is fast approaching, and we are in desperate need of volunteers. Build day is a time when families can come use tools loaned to the Pack by one of the WMC church members. You have the chance to redrill axles (if you want), get your car cut with a band saw, use a drill press to cut out a spot for weights, sand your car and wheels, and polish your axles. We will also pass out cars to the scouts. The Pack is covering the cost of the car kit for each scout. The whole family is encouraged to participate! Good Afternoon Pack! Just a reminder – Our FIRST Pack meeting of 2024 will be on January 8th. This Pack Meeting is focused on our Pinewood Derby event. The Pinewood Derby Car Kits will also be distributed to Scouts. Kits will be available for purchase for other family members to join the fun! Hey Scout Families, Please join us today for Christmas Caroling at Prestige Estates in Tyler. They are a big supporter of our Pack, so let’s show our appreciation and spread some cheer! We will meet there at 2:30. Please have your scouts wear their Class A uniform and any Christmas accessories they would like! We will also be handing out homemade Christmas cards to the residents. I know some dens made them during their meetings this week, if you made any at home be sure to bring them. This is not a drop-off event, all are invited to participate. Hey Scout families,   We are still looking for an inverter generator to borrow for the Troup Christmas parade tomorrow to power our lights and inflatables on the trailer. Good afternoon, Pack 359! Huge thanks to everyone who came out to decorate our amazing trailer and participate in the parade! The Troup Parade is this Thursday evening. We need a small inverter generator to power the decorations if anyone has one we can borrow. We are back to our normal Den Meeting schedule. Final Reminder – Our Scouts and Parents marching in the Parade need to be at the WHS Student Parking Lot no later than 2:15. Lion and Tiger scouts will ride on the Trailer. We are first in the parade, so we will finish fairly quickly. The Parade will kick off at 3:30 PM, and we’ll likely be finished by 4:15 when Scouts need to be picked up. Don’t forget to sign-in and sign-out your scout. Scouts need to be in Class A uniforms (layers vs coats). Parents marching can be wearing Class A uniforms or a Pack T-Shirt. Santa hats are welcome!
