Don’t miss tomorrow’s meeting!! We will have a special guest who is bringing all kinds of knives, bayonnettes, and hatchets from around the world, plus several ways the boys can sharpen different knives. We will have extra knives for all to sharpen! Since this is a “hands on” activity, parents please hang out if you can! Guests are welcome, fellow scouters! Hey Arrows! I apologize for the late notice, but we will not have a meeting tonight. Don’t forget about the Rose Parade this weekend! Our Den will get the first choice to carry the Flags in front of the parade. The parade will start promptly at 9 AM. Scouts need to arrive by 7:45 AM at the South East Corner of Front Street and Vine Street. Jason
Howdy Webelos, Monday we will continue working on our Physical Fitness pin. We will start in the youth room and then move out to the field. Make sure your scout wears athletic clothes and closed toe shoes. We will be outside most of the den meeting so water bottles and bug spray. Remember at home your scout is to be exercising and recording their progress for 30 days. Happy Saturday! As I sit at the ag barn waiting on my oldest to finish up I’m using this time to prepare for our Monday den meeting. This Monday we will start inside but finish outside. Wear workout clothes and bring water and bug spray. Please look at Page 80 in your webelos book to prepare for the start of our first pin “Stronger, Faster, Hirer”. Howdy Bear Families!! We have at least 4 new families joining the Den4 Family, so as we gather TUESDAY at 6:45pm at WUMC, be sure to reach out, introduce yourselves and make our newest members feel welcome!!! All new scouts will need to earn their BOBCAT AWARD – It’s on page 24 of your Bear book, and I’ll have handouts. Might want to brush up on our Scout Law and Scout Oath, everybody!! The BEAR neckerchief is light blue and we will need those by the October Pack Meeting. Pack Meetings remain on Monday nights at 6:30pm, and the BEARS will be providing the ever-popular BEAR carnival on October 25th. We’ll talk about that more at our Den Meetings. Hello to all BEAR Families!! Hopefullly you have gotten “in the groove” of school/work/life craziness and had a great weekend. We are gearing up for a super Scouting year with a Leader’s meeting tonight, recruitment events this week, and DEN Meetings starting back after that – see the schedule of events below!! All the BEAR Scouts I’ve seen have grown a mile this summer – time to see if those uniforms still FIT!!! Monday, Sept 13 at 6:30 – Den Leader Meeting at WUMC – open to Den Leaders and any Den 4 Parents who would like to step into an Assistant Den Leader role. It’s going to start raining and pouring this week from the Tropical storm Nicolas. Today I will be in a den leader meeting at the church so the church will be open to receive flags from 6:30-8:00. If you can pickup the same routes you put out that would be great.
