Pinewood Derby Weigh in is THIS FRIDAY – ALL DONATIONS FOR OUR FUNDRAISER NEED TO BE DROPPED OFF THAT EVENING AT WUMC BETWEEN 6PM AND 7PM.

Hi Arrow Families! We have not had a lot of volunteers sign up for our Pinewood Derby Fundraiser!!   ALL current Scouts (first year and returning) should plan to attend the Crossover Ceremony – All returning scouts have earned their Arrow of Light rank and can be awarded the engraved plaque regardless of whether you plan to bridge over into a Scout Troop or not.  First year scouts this year do need to complete one Arrow of Light Elective along with the required Advancements we have worked on as a Den.  I  believe our Whitehouse Mayor will be judging Pinewood Derby cars Friday evening according to Nicole Whittaker if you need to interview an elected official (the Mayor) for Building a Better World achievement. Hello Arrow Scouts & Families!! Hopefully your Pinewood Derby car is coming along nicely –  weigh in & car drop off is Friday, February 9th starting at 6pm. This week – ALL ARROWS need to be attending the Troop meetings for the troop you wish to bridge over to – Troop 359 Boys and Girls meet at 6:45 at WUMC – the boys are working on Orienteering (using a compass – these skills will be needed for an upcoming campout!!!)  Troop 359 campouts –  February 16 – 18 in Rusk. I was excited to see pictures of some of our Arrows on a recent Troop 5-mile hike – way to get a jump on your next Scout Rank!   Parents – This is a critical time for Arrow Scouts to acclimate themselves with their Troops so they are comfortable camping AND are able to participate in all the upcoming activities! Good Afternoon! Troop Meetings for Troop 359B and Troop 359G have been canceled for this evening. Here are updates from each Troop regarding the campouts planned for this weekend (in case any Arrows were planning to attend). Pinewood Derby Pack Meeting Monday, January 8th, 6:30 at WUMC in the sanctuary

Happy New Year ARROWS!! We start back for our last few weeks as Cub Scouts with our annual Pinewood Derby Pack Meeting coming up tomorrow, Monday, January 8th.  There’s always a few surprises and you will be able to get the rules, important dates, and most importantly your CAR!!  Looking forward to seeing everyone at 6:30 at WUMC – this will be our meeting for the week. Next week – make plans for Scouts (and Parents) to visit the Troop of your choice and be sure to ask about upcoming camping opportunities. Arrows! Tuesday December 19th meet at WUMC at 6:30 to pack gift boxes for the Whitehouse Police and Fire Departments!!!!

Arrow Families – Tomorrow, Tuesday, December 19, we will meet to pack the gift boxes for the Whitehouse Police and Fire Offices – we love our first responders!! Things to bring to “Pack the Baskets” – Homemade cookies are finally back on the favorite list after being taboo during Covid. Christmas Breads, cookies, snack mix – all make our first responders feel a little better working cold nights away from their families.  We have also included chapstick, dude wipes, lotion for chapped hands, beef jerky, nuts, candy bars, snack cakes, breakfast bars, and protein bars for a quick snack as they run out the door.  Pens are always useful.  I will have a large laundry basket or similar container and some tissue to tuck in…

For those attending the feast this evening (or dropping off scouts later), here are the details: The feast begins at 6:30. Arrive anytime after 6:00 PM. The campfire will begin at 7:30 PM. Hi Arrows! Tomorrow we meet at 6:30 at WUMC to go over campsite selection, bad weather plans and preparation, and tent set up.  If you have a 1 or 2 man tent, you can bring it.  We are also going to go over how to set up the troop tents, packing for camp, cold weather preparation, etc. Everyone – this is a great camp to attend – both boys and girls – and Scoutmaster Jason said parents can come but DO NOT NEED TO ATTEND.  Please go to Troop359.com/camp/ to sign up your scout for camping, and ** very important** be sure to add HOW MANY family members will be joining the scouts for Family Feast – they want to be sure there is plenty…
