Communication specific for each den

Last chance to sign up for “Mom & Me” mother & son camping trip AND CPR training

Hello Arrow Scout Families! BIG thanks to Harrison’s family for the snacks we will enjoy Tuesday AND to the parents who stayed to lend a hand with our “outdoor cooking” scouting refresher class. Donations of small bottles of water or snacks is much appreciated – Be aware that we have Scouts who are allergic to peanuts and strawberries, but this group does love their chips!  Scouts sometimes bring cupcakes to celebrate their birthdays with the den.  We always have a few “scouts in training” – scout siblings who don’t have to be included in snack time but really appreciate it if possible.   Parents are always welcome to stay; new Scouts might appreciate your help getting acclimated to our large and fun-loving den.   Apologies for…

Den meeting next week plus registration information

Hello ARROW Scouts! We picked up two new scouts during school registrations – please help me welcome Annabelle Upshaw and Everett Garcia.  Both attend Brown Elementary here in Whitehouse! Our “kickoff” meeting will be next Tuesday, September 26, at 6:30 pm in the back fellowship hall at WUMC. Parents – you might browse the Aquanaut and Fix-It electives to see if your scout finished enough requirements to earn those electives. You can do a Google search for Webelos/Arrow of Light electives to see the requirements. We will start the year with some “Outdoorsman” acheivment work – fire building, outdoor cooking, Emergency plans and a review of our Outdoor Code. See YOU next Tuesday!!   Returning Scout Families, We are so excited to start Den Meetings…

This is it!! Our final year as Arrows (Arrow of Light Cub Scouts) starts next week!!

Hello Arrows!  We are nearing the end of our Scouting Journey – we have just a few Advancements, an Elective or two, and some fun nights camping with Scout groups for your Arrow of Light scout to consider bridging over into.  There is a Parent meeting Monday, Sept 18 at WUMC at 6:30pm – for new parents or parents with Questions.  Den Meetings start the week of September 25th – we will be meeting on Tuesdays at 6:30pm pending everyone’s schedule allowing this – I am open to an occasional Sunday afternoon meeting as well if everyone’s schedule is especially hectic.  Troop meetings will depend on the Troop – Troop 359 meets on Tuesdays. This fall we will visit other Troops and/or invite Scoutmasters from…

Flag pickup this weekend!

Gigi will be busy with Webelos camp, so I am coordinating flag pickup for our AOLs. The following routes/neighborhoods need to be covered. I’m honestly not sure who usually does what, so let me know which neighborhood you can pick up (if you do not have a vehicle and would like to still help with flag pickup, let me know what route and we can pair you with another family):   B4 Windridge Estates: Remington Park: Cumberland Estates: Lupton Canyon Springs: Whittaker B5 Sleepy Hollow, Cambridge Village & Jeff Davis: B6 Greenwood Village, Graemont, Brookhollow, Brixworth: B8 Joye Lane, Brookwood, Beam:   I will send updates as these get covered. Thanks!   Nicole

Hi team! I am rushing trying to get to the airport for a 6pm flight to Florida BUT wanted to send out a reminder that camp registration is closing soon!  I have finally (today) started getting communications from the Scout office and have Kathy Prince’s notes from last year as well. I’ll be sending out a packing list and suggestions for camp survival sometime next week from Florida so bear with me.  I believe we have Jason Beaton, me, Jacquelyn Lackey from the Webelos group, Patrick Lupton and Eric Nielson that will be camping some or several nights – brave souls! Right now Gregory, Michael, Harrison, Rachael, Ayden, Viana, Evie and Madoc are registered to attend, but we have room for more! The forms are…

Webelos Camp next Month

Good morning Den 4!! Our scouts have the opportunity to attend Webelos Camp this summer. Webelos Camp is an introduction to long term summer camp. This year’s camp is 1 PM Thursday, July 6th through 12 PM Saturday, July 8th at Camp Pirtle. Parents are not required to attend, but are welcome. Mrs. Gigi, Mr. Jason, and Mr. Lupton will be there for sure. Thanks to our flag fundraiser, the pack is able to cover most of the cost for camp. It’s only $50 for scouts and $25 for adults. Register at https://etacpack359.org/webeloscamp/ All meals are provided. There is a very full schedule of events. Including shooting sports, Lakefront, swimming and other adventures. Please contact Mr. Jason at (903) 530-9378 with any questions.

FLAGS need to go out for Memorial Day this weekend + Reminder – no more scheduled Den Meetings!

Hey folks, all families responsible for flags need to get their flags out this weekend. The WUMC flag room will be open this Saturday from 8:30 – 10:30 for folks to pick up their flags and they want all flags out by this coming Monday, May 22nd so they are out a week in advance of Memorial Day. I believe all the routes are correct online – be sure to take a peek to see if you have any new flags – Nicole might be able to help with that information.  Please let me know if your family might need some help getting your flags out by next Monday.  Someone could get you in to pick up flags tonight during Scouts as well.  Keep in…

NO Den 4 Webelos Meeting tonight!!

Hello Webelos Family – we need to get used to being called “Arrows” pretty soon! There will be NO Webelos Den meeting this week – in fact, we won’t meet again until we get an end-of-year get-together worked out around the current crazy weather!! We’ll talk about the Webelos Camp at Pirtle in more detail – remember to mark your calendars for July 6 – 8. Scouts – please complete your “Earth Rocks!” Geology information while it’s fresh on your minds.  Some of you are still working on Sports, and we have the “Fix It” elective to work on over the summer.  Help me remember to have the boys sign a “Thank You” note for the TJC Geology department thanking them for our visit.  More…
